The Wells bowed of this years FA Cup at the first hurdle going down 2-1 away to Eastbourne Utd.
With two contrasting styles of play on show the Wells were undone by United's long ball game.
The hosts took the lead on 33mins when a long ball over the top caught out the wells defence.
They doubled their lead 12mins into the second half when a Wells free kick on the edge of Eastbourne's area was blocked and they were allowed to break quickly.
Ollie Bankole gave the large travelling Wells contingent hope when he bundled in from a corner but despite a late onslaught the Wells were unable to find an equaliser.
United finished the game with 10 men after a crude challenge on Bankole was correctly given a straight red card.
