FA Cup & Challenge Cup Draws - Reaction

The draw for the FA Competitions has been made at FA HQ today:

FA Cup
Tunbridge Wells will visit fellow SCEFL outfit Holmesdale in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round on Saturday, August 16 (KO 3pm). The prize for the winner will be an away match with either our near neighbours Sevenoaks Town or East Preston (Sussex County League) in the Preliminary round on Saturday, August 30. Peacehaven & Telscombe (Ryman Premier League) await the side to emerge victorious from the Preliminary Round tie.

"I'm sure Holmesdale are the same as us in that it's always nicer to play a team from outside your league - but at least it guarantees a SCEFL team in the next round," reflected Martin Larkin. "It will be tough up there as they are a good side, but hopefully we can take a lot of fans and perform on the day."

FA Vase
Having finished fourth in the SCEFL last season, The Wells are exempt to the First Round Proper of the FA Vase. The draw for the first two qualifying rounds has been made, but The Wells will have to wait a little longer to find out who they will face after these have been played.

SCEFL Challenge Cup
Meanwhile at SCEFL HQ, details of the Challenge Cup draw have been published. Tunbridge Wells will host Cray Valley PM in the Preliminary Round. The winner of that tie will face Fisher away in the First Round. At present, dates for these ties have not been established.
