At a bright and breezy Culverden The Wells missed their chance to leapfrog visitor's Chatham Town. With a run of games coming up there were some changes to what has been a fairly settled starting XI, with a welcome return for both Perry Spackman and Josh Stanford.
The game was just 2 mins old when a wayward clearance eventually found its way to Chatham striker Stuart Zanone, who promptly curled the ball past Cameron Hall to put the visitors 1-0 up.
Both sides cancelled each other out for the remainder of the first half, with Jarred Trespaderne going closest after being skilfully played in only to see his drive met with a fine save by the Chatham keeper.
The second half continued in the same vein with The Wells limiting Chatham to speculative chances.
The Wells faithful had to wait until the final minute for Jack Harris to bag the equaliser for the home side.
Greg Skinner had the opportunity to win it at the death for The Wells but his shot could only find the side netting.
The Wells remain in 16th on 35pts.
Next up The Wells host Cray Valley on Monday evening.
Kick Off 7:45pm
