The Wells put on a blistering second half attacking display to progress to the 3rd round of the challenge cup at the expense of Welling Town.
New signing Matt Day opened the scoring after just 3mins after Euan Sahadow had done well to win the ball in midfield and play a cross field pass to Josh Froggatt who duly crossed for Day to score on his home debut.
Chris Round equalised for Welling Town on 26mins when his low shot squirmed into The Wells net to make the scores level at half time.
Matt Day put The Wells back in front just 3mins into the second half when he deftly chipped over The Welling keeper.
Josh Froggatt added a 3rd on 48mins when he linked up well with Jason Thompson.
Froggatt provided an excellent assist for Matt Day to complete his hat trick on 55mins and make it 4-1.
Jordan Wells rounded off an excellent game in midfield when he rifled home on 58mins.
Substitute Danny Powell went close to adding a sixth goal but found the Welling keeper in fine form while Matt Day’s attempt at a fourth goal was denied by the crossbar.
Tobi Ademiju scored a last minute consolation for Welling.
The win sees The Wells progress to the 3rd round where they will travel to Canterbury City.
