The Wells finally lifted the Gay Dawn Farm hoodoo by winning an enthralling league encounter 1-3.

The Wells could have been a goal up inside the first 2mins when Alexx Kendall whipped a ball into the Corinthian area only to see Jon Pilbeam blaze over the crossbar.

Josh Biddlecombe gave The Wells a deserved lead when his long range effort was misjudged by The Corinthian stopper on 16mins.

The Wells continue their journey in this seasons Challenge Cup on Tuesday evening when they travel to Ditton to face K Sports.

The Paper Boys sit top of the SCEFL division one with an impressive record of 17 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats.

Having received a bye in the first round of the competition. K Sports thumped Basement side Crockenhill 6-1 in the 2nd round to set up a third round tie with The Wells.

The Wells began the new year with a credible point against league leaders and A21 rivals Sevenoaks Town.

The Oaks were reduced to ten men on 8mins after a crude challenge by former Wells player Brett Ince on Jon Pilbeam saw The Oaks player receive his marching orders.

The heavy conditions meant both sides had limited chances.
