The Wells welcome Jersey based St Peter to The Culverden on Saturday in the quarter final tie of this seasons Kent Senior Trophy.

The Saints ply their trade in the Jersey Combination League where they currently sit 2nd.

A bumper crowd of 505 saw The Wells lose their 9 game unbeaten run against title chasing Chatham Town.

Jamie Humphris gave The Wells the lead from the penalty spot on 32mins after Harrison Carnegie was upended in The Chats area.

Matt Bodkin levelled for the visitors on the stroke of half time when his shot was deflected in.

Jason Thompson restored the lead for The Wells 2mins into the second half.

Jake Beecroft’s 25 yard screamer made it 3-1 to The Wells.

The Wells are the in form team in the league and have now gone 9 games unbeaten. Saturday’s demolition of Punjab Utd saw them rise to 14th on 26pts and now have an improved record of 8 wins, 2 draws and 10 defeats.

The Wells kicked off 2019 with a breathtaking and ruthless attacking display at Punjab Utd.

Jason Thompson opened the scoring for The Wells after 13mins and then added another 4 minutes later after good work from Ola Williams.

Anthony Adesite pulled a goal back for the hosts on 19mins.

Jamie Humphris returned The Wells lead with two goals when he netted on 22 & 30 mins to make it 1-4.

Substitute Tom Pearson added a fourth when drilled home after a good run through the edge of the Punjab area on 62mins.

The Wells kick off 2019 with a trip to Gravesend based Punjab Utd.

Punjab sit one place below The Wells in 17th having won 15pts from 20 games.
Their league record consists of 3 wins, 6 draws and 11 defeats so far in their first season in the premier division since winning promotion from division one last term.

The Wells A26 Derby win last Saturday was their 8th game unbeaten and saw them close the gap on the mid table pack of 9 teams who are all within 9pts of each other.

The Wells singed off from 2018 with derby delight as they continued their unbeaten run to 8 games.

An even first half saw the two teams separated only by a superb Jason Thompson free kick on the stroke of half time to give The Wells and 1-0 lead into the break.

The Crows replied somewhat against the run of play thanks to Ansu Janneh’s well taken finish on 62mins.

The game looked to be heading towards a draw until Tom Pearson found space in the Crow area to head home The Wells winner.

The win sees The Wells move within a point of 15th placed Erith Town.

Saturday sees The Wells travel to East Sussex to face A26 rivals Crowborough Athletic.

The Crows sit two places above The Wells in 14th and have amassed 26pts from 21 games. After some impressive early results The Crows have slipped into a poor run of form which has seen them lose 5 and draw 1 of their last 6 games and acquire the worst goal difference in the league outside the bottom two teams of -24 along the way.

Saturday’s thrilling 3-4 win away at Lordswood was The Wells seventh game unbeaten in a run that has seen them score 19 goals.

The Wells signed off for Christmas with a 7 goal thriller that extended their unbeaten run to 7 games.

A dominant opening from The Wells was rewarded when Josh Biddlecombe shot went in off the Lords post.

Despite a number of fine saves from Dan Smith in The Lords goal The Wells were unable to capitalise on their opener and conceded on 17mins when Lords skipper Jordan Wells longe range effort skidded past Calum Hampson.

Both teams were reduced to ten men on 17mins after a skirmish which saw Dane Moore and George Blake receive their marching orders.

The Wells travel to Lordswood on Saturday in their last game before Christmas.

The Lords sit 8th after 16 games on 28pts. They have a record of 8 wins, 4 draws and 4 defeats.

Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Cray Valley was The Wells sixth game unbeaten as they remain in 16th on 17pts and look to make ground on the teams above them.

Last season saw The Wells leave Martyn Grove with maximum points after a 1-2 win.
