The Wells get a welcome respite from their league campaign when they welcome AFC Uckfield Town to The Culverden on Saturday in the first round proper of this seasons FA Vase.

Reformed 4 years ago in 2014, The Uckers are members of the Southern Combination League where they currently sit 12th after 9 games on 12pts. They have have a record of 3 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats.

The Wells suffered a second half horror show as they threw away a 2-0 lead to lose 2-4 to Punjab Utd.

The Wells got off to a lively start and broke the deadlock on 9mins when Ian Parsons shot struck the bottom of the post and hit the away keeper on the back and rolled into the net.

Josh Biddlecombe doubled The Wells lead when he netted 2mins into the restart.

The Wells worse start to a league campaign in 13 years continued as they lost 3-2 away to Bearsted.

Bearsted opened the scoring on 11mins when Reece Collins finally netted after 3 attempts after two good saves from Cameron Hall.

Jake Beecroft equalised for The Wells from a free kick after Josh Biddlecombe was upended just outside the area on 28mins.

Brandon Diau opened his scoring account to give The Wells the lead when he headed home from close range after an excellent delivery from Jarred Trespaderne on 55mins.

The Wells return to Maidstone on Tuesday evening to face Bearsted.

The Bears sit 12th after 7 games on 12pts with a record of 4 wins and 3 defeats.

Saturday’s 1-1 draw away to K Sports elevated The Wells one place to 18th after 7 games on 4pts.

The Bears have won both league meetings between the two teams at Honey Lane since their promotion from SCEFL Division One. Last Season saw Bearsted win 1-0.

A much improved performance saw The Wells earn a deserved point away at K Sports.

Despite a bright opening The Wells found themselves a goal down on 19mins when James Jeffries took advantage of a fumbled cross to poke home.

The Wells were denied an equaliser on four occasions by an outstanding first half goalkeeping display by K Sports Adam Highstead.

Returning winger Rhys Bartlett grabbed The Wells equaliser when his cross/shot lobbed over the The Paperboys substitute keeper on 77mins.

The Wells look to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat to Canterbury City, when they travel to Ditton to face K Sports on Saturday.

The Paperboys won promotion from division one last season after finishing runners up to Punjab United. They find themselves in 17th after 6 games on 4pts having won once drawn once and losing 4 times.

The Wells remain in 19th after Saturday’s defeat and have now lost 6 of their opening 7 games.
