The Wells put in an abject performance on a soggy afternoon at The Culverden as they were easily dismantled by Canterbury City.

A bright opening by The Wells was soon extinguished as Alexx Kendall deflected into his own net after 7mins.

Jordan Casey doubled City’s lead when he rifled home from the edge of the Wells area.

Dave Pilcher secured a well deserved victory when he was allowed time and space to rocket home from 25yrds.

The Wells remain in 19th with 3pts from 7 games.

Wednesday evenings Vase replay win at Bridon Ropes saw The Wells make it 4 games unbeaten and they will be looking to add to their first league points won away at Rusthall. After 6 games The Wells sit 19th.

The Wells progressed to the 1st round proper of this seasons FA Vase with a 0-1 replay win at SCEFL division one side Bridon Ropes.

Drew Crush thought he had given The Wells the lead only for his goal to be ruled out for a offside.
Danny Powell however did give The Wells the lead on the stroke of half time when he fired home from a Jake Beecroft through ball

Despite a late onslaught The Wells held on to claim victory and set up a home tie against AFC Uckfield Town of the Southern Combination League on Saturday 13th October, Kick Off 3pm.

The Wells travel to Meridian Sports Club on Wednesday evening to play the replay of Saturday’s FA Vase 1-1 aet draw with SCEFL Division One side Bridon Ropes.

Saturday’s game saw Danny Powell’s 35th minute strike cancelled out by Nathan Simpson’s 43rd minute equaliser and extra time couldn’t separate the two sides.

The Ropes best run in the Vase was making the first round proper in both the 15/16 and 16/17 seasons.
They currently sit 4th in SCEFL Division One having gained 15pts from 8 games, winning 4, drawing 3 and losing once.

The Wells must travel to Charlton on Wednesday evening after a pulsating 1-1 draw with Bridon Ropes.

Danny Powell gave The Wells a 35 mins lead with a excellent near post finish.

The Ropes equalised 8mins later when Nathan Simpson converted.

Both sides had chances in the second half and extra time to win the tie and The Wells were indebted to Cameron Hall’s goalkeeping heroics to keep the scores level.

The Wells return to FA Vase duties on Saturday when they host SCEFL Division One side Bridon Ropes in the second qualifying round of this seasons competition.

The Ropes best run in the Vase was making the first round proper in both the 15/16 and 16/17 seasons.

The Wells bagged their first 3pts of the season with an away win at neighbours Rusthall.
The Rustics took the lead after 40mins when Robbie Bissett netted after some poor defending by The Wells.

The Wells equaliser came just 2mins later when a free kick was whipped into the Rusthall area and turned into the net by the Rusthall defender.

The game changed in the second half with the introduction of Jeremy Tudor-Pole who put The Wells in front on 81mins.

Tudor-Pole added his second and The Wells third 4mins later after a blistering solo run saw him find the net.

The Wells head to Jockey Farm Wednesday evening to face neighbours Rusthall.

Having been reprieved from relegation last season thanks to league restructuring, The Rustics sit 2 places above The Wells in 18th on 4pts from 6 games. Their record consists of 1 win, 1 draw and 4 defeats.

The Wells continue to look for their opening league points of the season and after 5 defeats sit rooted to bottom place.

Last seasons meeting between the two sides saw a goalless draw in front of a bumper 652 crowd.

The Wells finally got their 18/19 season started with a resounding win in the Buildbase FA Vase Away to Billingshurst.

Jeremy Tudor-Pole gave The Wells an 11min opener when he converted after beating the Billingshurst keeper.

Tommy Lawerence scored the goal of the day when his jinking run saw him beat 4 opposition players and the keeper to double The Wells lead on 18mins.

Alexx Kendall added the third Wells goal on 29mins when he slotted home into an empty net after a well worked move.

Saturday sees The Wells get a welcome respite from their league woes as they travel to West Sussex to face Billingshurst in the FA Vase.

Billingshurst ply their trade in the Southern Combination League Division One where they currently occupy 14th on 3pts after 4 games winning once and losing 3 times.
