The Wells appalling start to the season went from bad to worse as they lost to A26 derby to neighbours Crowborough Athletic.

The Crows opened the scoring on the stroke of half time through Bayley Colbran After an uneventful first half.

Jack Allen doubled the visitors lead on 71mins with a fine finish.

Jake Beecroft gave The Wells a lifeline when he converted a 75min Penalty, however their was to be no equaliser for The Wells who remain rooted to bottom place.

Next up The Wells begin their FA Vase campaign with a trip to Billinghurst FC on Saturday.

Bank holiday Monday sees The Wells host A26 rivals Crowborough Athletic at The Culverden.

The Crows have endured a tempestuous summer and are currently going through a period of austerity which has seen all of their squad from last season bar one leave Alderbrook.

and a Joe N'Guessan 39min Penalty gave The Millers a 3-0 lead into half time.

Francis Babalola made it 4-0 on the hour.

Alexx Kendall gave The Wells a consolation on 82mins before Denzel Gayle finished of a miserable night for The Wells by netting in the final minute and continuing The Wells worst start to a season for 12 years.

Saturday’s defeat to AFC Croydon Athletic was The Wells 3rd League defeat in as many games and means they now sit 3rd from bottom having endured their worst start to a league campaign since the 2006/07 season.

The Wells fell to their third league defeat of the season losing at home to AFC Croydon Athletic.

An even first half needed goalless.

Former Wells striker Joe Nwoko scored the only goal of the game on 75mins when he slotted in a cross at the back post.

The defeat leaves The Wells third from bottom on 0pts but with a better goal difference than fellow strugglers Bearsted and Crowborough Athletic.

The Wells return to league duties on Saturday when they welcome AFC Croydon Athletic to The Culverden.

The Rams sit 5th on 4pts after 2 games. Having drawn their opening day fixture 2-2 at home to Deal Town they then went onto beat Cray Valley PM 1-0.

The Wells sit 2nd from bottom without a win after their 2 league defeats to Glebe and Corinthian.

Last season saw Jon Pilbeam score the only goal to give The Wells a 1-0 Win in front of 183 spectators.

The Wells crashed out of the FA Cup losing 2-3 to Croydon after extra time.

Despite having the better of the early exchanges it was Croydon who took the lead after 15mins from a counter attack.

The Trams doubled their lead on 39mins thanks to Olu Jubrill who shook of both Wells centre halves.

Chad Bryce-Borthwick gave The Wells a life line when he rocketed in on 71mins

Jeremy Tudor-Pole’s 90mins equaliser sent the tie to extra time.

The Wells welcome Croydon to The Culverden for the FA Cup Extra Preliminary round replay.

Last season saw The Wells equal their best ever showing in The FA Cup, making the 2nd Qualifying round, Eventually losing to Conference South side Concord Rangers.

Croydon FA Cup journey last term saw them knockout eventual promotion winners Whitstable Town in the Extra Preliminary round before bowing out at the next stage to Bostik South side Faversham Town.

Saturday’s game saw The Wells Relinquish a 2 goal lead to draw 2-2 in an entertaining game at The Croydon Sports Arena.

The Wells threw away a two goal lead to send this FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round to a replay.

An excellent save from Cam Hall in The Wells goal proved to be the springboard for Steph Harper’s 22mins opener. Having acrobatically saved, The Wells stopper provided the assist as he went Route one to Harper who fired The Wells into the lead.

Substitute Joffy Shea doubled The Wells lead with a brilliant 20yrd lobbed effort.

Josh Biddlecombe went close to adding a third for The Wells but his effort crashed against the crossbar.

The Clubs Annual General Meeting will take place on Friday 7th September at The Culverden stadium Clubhouse at 8pm.
